Washing down the sorrows…

Washing down the sorrows…

Sorrow: distress caused by loss, affliction, disappointment, etc.; grief, sadness, or regret.

The rain came tonight, as well as the strong winds, roaring furiously and disturbing the apparent quietness that had seemed to be established.

I live in the top floor of my building, in the center of the city, and i can hear the rain falling loudly on my roof. When i moved in, i kinda liked it… but tonight it only makes the apartment feel bigger and emptier… and I feel lonely.

Never mind this melancholic state of mind. It’s just the rain washing away my sorrows and grieves. Tomorrow I’ll wake up fresh and renewed.

Peace.

Dear Baeta, I’ve always loved the rain. Especially when it pours strong and heavy. That heavy thick drops that lands on the top of our head or between our neck and shirt falling down our back, chilling us, driving us mad but making us smile right after… Heavy rain, when I was in high school, also meant that we might not have sports class, in case the pavillion was full, we could not have classes outside. I love heavy rain because it washes my car, it washes the streets and buildings and I believe it washes lives too. It makes the weather colder and we bring out nice blankets and warmer clothes. In the morning, after a rainy night, it smells wet, kind of like wet dirt, and it reminds me of my childwood holidays with my grandparents. So many songs are dedicated to rain… rain is renewal, welcome it and let yourself be renewed. Not like a face lift, not like skin care, totally not like a butt lift…. but a soul sorrow washaway.
