Last tuesday, the 29th, was my 26th Birthday Party! Had an amazing get-together at my place with close friends. It was a fantastic party!
Leo from SoulFlow DJ’s, was the cherry on top of the cake, so to say, as she spinned the coolest summer house, funk, sould and hip-hop grooves!
The theme of the party was “Will You Be My Sugar Daddy/Momma”. You know why? Well, because it was a kind-of fund-raising dinner party, to help out with the big trip I’ll be doing in the states soon! The result: Amongst a lot of cash, I got a pass to the MOMA in San Francisco and a concert ticket to see Donna Summer live at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles! I’m thrilled!
My friends are the best. Thank you so much for giving me a perfect birthday!

Lately I came in contact with a memory from the past and that got me thinking about re-runs. You see, as you might have figured out, I love TV series… usually the teenage dramas! The thing is I enjoy owning the DVD’s so that when I feel like watching it again, doing a personal re-run, I am free to do so!
Now, what about real life? Do you think it is possible to just pick up the remote and hit play once again on that old faded memory? I really don’t think so, but it is so nice to see the sights, smell the sents, feel the touches… get a feel of the time passing - of how much you’ve grown and changed since.
I ran into an ex who I haven’t seen in 7 years or so! It was… interesting…
So, today, I felt like doing some re-runs on my DVD’s and so I picked up The O.C. from the shelve! Ain’t that perfect for what’s to come in less than a month?
California… here I come!

É a primeira vez que me aventuro a ir a uma marcha do orgulho em Lisboa. Já o fiz em Madrid, como tantos outros portugueses, mas aqui nunca. Porque raio não?
Pois digo-vos que foi uma experiência a repetir - bom ambiente, gente divertida, sol e calor, exercício (sim que aquela caminhada deu-me cabo das pernas)! Não só marchámos pelos nossos direitos, como também ganhámos uma corzita e ainda perdemos uns kilos!!!!
A quem faltou, pelas mil e uma desculpas esfarrapadas, I say: Your loss!

This is something worth posting about! I’m super excited because I just completed my subscription process to An Event Apart San Francisco (and payed for it). This means there is no turning back now… I’m on my way to California in August! OH YEAH!
This event was the starting point to make an effort to organize this trip. I’ll be attending it (2 days with amazing conferences by outstanding speakers), staying a couple more days in San Francisco to get to know the city, and the I’m renting a car for a roadtrip, by myself, down the sunny California! The trip will end in San Diego, where I went in 2002 for an internship in the amazing Culture Shock Dance Company. It will be great to see some friends again after these years! To top this, after that, I’m staying a week with my dear Ser.Calvin shopping and being fabulous in NYC! How much better can this get???
So, my question to you guys is: Have you ever traveled to California? What are your tips and advices?

I also do love that part… oh, I’m a hopeless romantic torn away by this somewhat ungrateful society!
WOW… The side-effects of the freakin’ drugs are taking over me! Shit! At least I haven’t touched a cigarette in 7 days! And yesterday I was out for drinks and did not feel like smoking at all! I guess depression is a good price to pay for this.
But I have my dear side-kick, dear Ser.Calvin, to help me out! Yesterday we went to have some sushi and then see Sweeny Todd, what an amazing movie!
Then I went to Bar 106 for a couple of drinks (so much freakin’ smoke there, lol) and I was surprised to encounter someone there I haven’t seen in a long time. It is someone that once upon a time broke my heart and fed it to the sharks (so to speak), but for whom I now feel a great deal of care. I was happy to find him looking good and in peace with himself.
So much emotion for one night…(oh and the smoke was bothering me so much! LOOOL). I had one more vodk-tonic and then went to Bricabar for 5 minutes, only to realize I don’t have any patience to stand there!!
Today I just laid on the sofa, and watched the first 5 episodes of the first season of “Brothers & Sisters” (I’m watching everything from the beginning again), where, on episode 5, I found the pearl above!

For those who do not know, I’m going through rehab… yeah, I’m doing a program to stop smoking! I’m using a drug called Champix and I’m on the 10th day of treatment. I’ve stopped smoking since monday and I’m not gonna lie to you, It’s hard! Not that I feel the need for a cigarette - which I don’t - but I just feel uneasy and, the worst, I’m having terrible and insaningly insomnia! Those are both side effects of the drug and the quitting… I’ll just have to put up with this if I want a better lifestyle.
Interestingly, my creativity is very sharp… and I tried to express my frustration with the photo montage above.
I just hope the insomnia stops soon or I’ll go mad! :S
