Mr. Maybe

Mr. Maybe

My job (…) might not be the highest-paying job in the universe, but it pays the bills, pays the mortgage, and leaves me just enough for the odd bit of retail therapy.

Oh, what a lovely novel I just finished reading: “Mr. Maybe” by Jane Green. Thanks Teresa for lending it to me and by that providing me with a couple of moments of intense laughter by myself and also some fun and quirky look at life, love and relationships.

Finding Shelter overlooking the Pacific…

Finding Shelter overlooking the Pacific…

Tonight I finally got the chance to watch the movie Shelter - A gay-themed movie that portraits the story of a young man going though some life-altering decisions. I have to say it is definitely a beautiful movie - from the breathtaking cinematography to the story, not forgetting the involving soundtrack… bliss. This movie came in the perfect timing…

(Tori) You don’t belong to people forever…

(Zach) Then why bother?

(Tori) Isn’t it worth it?

(Zach) Yeah…

I’m not gonna show you the trailer (but you can see it on youtube). Instead I’ll post a video of the soundtrack single (an artist published by the same company that produced and distributed the movie). The video has some great footage from the movie and the music is beautiful…

Peace and much love ;)

The Sex, the city and things that never change

The Sex, the city and things that never change

Carrie (reading to a little girl): “… then Cinderella and the prince lived happily ever-after.” You know, things don’t always happen like this in real life. I just think you should know that now.

ohhhhhh… I can’t wait for the movie to premier! This new trailer is even more exciting than the teaser trailer I saw before! Check out the official website to see more videos (with way better quality!!) - www.sexandthecitymovie.com

The tension…

The tension…

Jason: Why are you such an unpleasant person?

Kevin: What do you care?

Jason: I Don’t!

Kevin: You didn’t come here looking for a band-aind, did you?… You came here looking for me.

Jason: Maybe…

Brothers & Sisters - Season 1 - Episode 23 (Season finale)

this part…

this part…

Scotty: How did you get so cute?

Kevin: I was born this way. What’s your excuse?

(…)

Scotty: I Love this part, when you look at someone and they don’t look away

I also do love that part… oh, I’m a hopeless romantic torn away by this somewhat ungrateful society!

WOW… The side-effects of the freakin’ drugs are taking over me! Shit! At least I haven’t touched a cigarette in 7 days! And yesterday I was out for drinks and did not feel like smoking at all! I guess depression is a good price to pay for this. :)

But I have my dear side-kick, dear Ser.Calvin, to help me out! Yesterday we went to have some sushi and then see Sweeny Todd, what an amazing movie!

Then I went to Bar 106 for a couple of drinks (so much freakin’ smoke there, lol) and I was surprised to encounter someone there I haven’t seen in a long time. It is someone that once upon a time broke my heart and fed it to the sharks (so to speak), but for whom I now feel a great deal of care. I was happy to find him looking good and in peace with himself.

So much emotion for one night…(oh and the smoke was bothering me so much! LOOOL). I had one more vodk-tonic and then went to Bricabar for 5 minutes, only to realize I don’t have any patience to stand there!!

Today I just laid on the sofa, and watched the first 5 episodes of the first season of “Brothers & Sisters” (I’m watching everything from the beginning again), where, on episode 5, I found the pearl above!

Hope you all had a great weekend. Thanks for reading and, please, write a comment… it’s not fair just to be a voyeur! :D (but it was nice to receive an anonymous e-mail a couple of days ago!).

Peace and much love ;)

Expectations

Expectations

Blessed is the man who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed

Alexander Pope

Today I got to think about expectations and how they affect our lives.

People usually expect too much of situation and others, am I right? Let’s take this story for example: You meet someone, say, off the internet. A whole great deal of chemistry is developed and you finally set a date to meet in person. When you finally do, the level of expectation is usually way too high and it all falls apart way too fast!

This does not only apply to relationships, of course. What about what you expect out of your own life? Out of your job?

When should you stop exepecting so much and start actually living without the inevitable disappointment?

So, let’s take Alexander Pope’s quote above and end the disappointment. Today!

The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time

Chemical reaction

When you are talking about human chemistry, only one thing matters: either you’ve got it… or you don’t.

Grey’s Anatomy - Season 4, Episode 7 - Meredith on voiceover

Lately I’ve been realizing my life is ruled by chemistry. Chemestry for people, situations, places… I think almost anyone can relate to this thought.

My enthusiasm is triggered when I get that chemestry with something and I recently was told how enthusiastic I can be. I guess sometimes that enthusiasm scares people (yes, it might sound odd, but it happens).

Anyway, my point with this is: Should you look the other way if you’ve got that chemestry locked in??? Oh no way!

So here’s a motto for 2008: Let yourself be taken away when you feel that chemestry. You’ll be surprised with the results.

Dr. Grey is back!

Change… We don’t like it. We fear it. But we can’t stop it from coming. We either adapt to change, or we get left behind. It hurts to grow.Anybody who tells you it doesn’t is lying.
But here’s the truth; sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same. And sometimes… oh, sometimes change is good… sometimes change… is everything.
(…) Nothing remains the same for long. We either adapt to change… or… we get left behind.

And she’s back with a bang… fuckin awsome and insightfull shit! (excuse my french)

Peace ;)
