Come Rain or Come Shine

Lately my work life has been extremely fast-paced and exhausting. In times of worldwide financial crisis I can call myself lucky. But in a craft where you have to use your creativity, exhausted is not good at all.

The past week was a mess: 14h work days, almost never leaving the office (and my office is at home, so you do the math – heck, there where days I did not even leave the pajamas!).

This rhythm is not good for any kind of existence apart from work – the so called “social life” (hehehe). So I guess this is part of the reason why this Wondeful Blog has been oh so still lately. It has always been an outlet to talk about my social interactions and now, that work has taken over, I feel like I’ve lost my voice (socially speaking).

Anyway, today I was trying to work (after a late work night last night – went to bed at 6am), but my brain was way too tired to produce anything it was being forced to produce. So my mind wandered away and I got caught by the unstable weather today: one minute it was raining, the next the sun was shining bright!

Those two photos above are not from today, but they embrace the concept of what I was seeing and feeling. You can see both original photos, the rain and the sunshine, both shot from my living room window, on my Flickr photostream. You can also check out a photo I actually snapped today of a Beautiful Rainbow that showed up!

So, to spoil my dear readers a bit, I’ve prepared the composition you see above in a large format (2048×1536 – it fits both standard and widescreen resolutions), so you can embellish your computer desktop!

Wordpress WannaB

Today I’m at the WordCamp 2008, in San Francisco – a conference for Wordpress developers and users.

The conference is amazing and i’ve been meeting amazing people! Jim is one of these amazing people I’ve just met and, after we found they had some wordpress logo fake tattoos for everybody, he had the idea of replacing the “W” on my “Mr.WannaB” tattoo, with the fake sticker tattoo of the Wordpress logo “W”! Check out the Flickr group to see other users tattoos!

What do you think of it?? Are we geeks enough? hahahah!

Later I’ll write about my trip to San Francisco…

Liana – version 2

Hey there!
It’s been crazy crazy crazy these last couple of weeks!!! The latest project I finished was the redesign of Liana’s website. We are now at version 2 – powered by wordpress!

She’s got a new project, Stockholm Lisboa Project, with their debut CD “Sol” – a delicious album with a mix of sweedish and portuguese music. You can hear some of the tracks on both Liana and Stockholm Lisboa Project websites.

Oh, mas agora já não posso fazer undo!

Sem dúvida um expressão merecedora dos mais variados prémios, não concordam? E se fizessem ideia a que se referia provávelmente entravam em pânico… mas como o cansaço já era muito, simplesmente desatámos a rir à gargalhada!!

Pelo menos o trabalho foi terminado! Uff! Agora é esperar para a coisa não dar problemas na gráfica!

Nos próximos posts vou revelar que projecto tem sido este que me tem mantido tão ocupadito! Que saudades de ter tempo para pesquisar e fazer design para mim!!!!!!

International Affair

Just a quick note to let everybody know that I did a redesign on my work portfolio!
The new theme is called “International Affair” and the portfolio now features a bilingual interface (nothing too fancy, just functional!).

The Return of Bricabar!

Last 2 weeks have been really busy at work. The reason is the “return” of the club Bricabar. I’ve been involved in the design of the new image, as well as the whole remodeling of the club! It is almost ready for the grand re-opening and I’m sure it will be a blast!

I know the club has a dark reputation, but i’m sure we’ll manage to turn that around and make it one of the highlights of the gay club scene in Lisbon!

Next friday, opening at midnight, I’ll be there to welcome you and show you around! Come and say Hi! ;)
